BYD Blade Cell is a new type of battery cell technology developed by BYD Company Ltd., a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) and battery manufacturer. The Blade Cell technology uses a unique stacked design, which BYD claims provides greater energy density, higher safety, and lower costs compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries.

The Blade Cell consists of multiple layers of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells stacked together, with each cell being just 1.2 mm thick. The cells are then bonded together to form a larger battery pack, which can be used in electric cars, buses, and other applications.

One of the main advantages of the Blade Cell technology is its high energy density. This means that electric vehicles using Blade Cell batteries can achieve longer ranges on a single charge.

Another advantage of Blade Cell technology is its high safety. Since each cell is only 1.2 mm thick, there is less potential for thermal runaway or other safety issues that can arise in traditional lithium-ion batteries. The Blade Cell is also designed to be resistant to puncture, which further enhances its safety.

Finally, BYD claims that the Blade Cell technology is more cost-effective than traditional lithium-ion batteries. This is partly due to the reduced amount of materials required to manufacture the cells, as well as the simplified production process.

Overall, the Blade Cell technology is an exciting development in the world of electric vehicle batteries, offering higher energy density, greater safety, and lower costs compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries.
